An equally fresh if perhaps not quite as ripe nose of red fruit and mineral-infused aromas of surpassing complexity introduce delicious, intense and slightly firmer medium full flavors that culminate in a subtly persistent finish. This is refined and exceptionally pure and while it is on the lighter side, the focus, detail and precision is extremely impressive.

The ’04 Clos Saint Jacques has a pure, cherry and strawberry-infused nose with beautifully laced new oak that never obscures the fruit intensity. The palate is very well-defined on the entry with vibrant red cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate notes, though it just lacks a sense of nervosite towards the finish. Moderate length.
