The 2012 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has been maturing gracefully, it would seem. There are plenty of sous-bois scents on the nose, damp moss, fern and wild hedgerow intertwining with red berry fruit. The palate has moved little since I last tasted it, still offering crisp, almost brittle tannins and a fine bead of acidity. A bit austere toward the finish, but the breeding comes through and the sapidity beckons you back for another sip. Drink now and over the next decade. Tasted at La Trompette. - VM
