“The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Houillères, located on the border with Puligny, has an understandably Puligny-like bouquet, a little more malic than the Domaine’s other cuvées. The palate is very well-balanced with a tangy, marmalade-tinged entry. Cohesive from start to finish with plenty of extract on the finish, this is a well-crafted, quite intense Chassagne-Montrachet that should mature well in bottle. Drink 2024-2036.”

Mid lemon yellow. The nose has a little bit more reductive tension than the straight Chassagne, with fresh golden orchard fruit, a generous weight behind, ripe apples, good acidity nicely folded in and excellent length. - JM
